Melbournecigars is an online-only premium cigar retailer based in Melbourne, Victoria. We stock 232 products from 30 brands — Cuban Habanos, New World cigars, limited and regional editions, custom-rolled cigars and accessories — sourced through official distribution, held at 16–18 °C and 68–70% relative humidity, and shipped humidified Australia-wide in 2–5 business days. Sales are restricted to adults 18 and over.
Who we are
Melbournecigars is an independent, online-only cigar retailer trading from Melbourne, Victoria. There is no shop front — we hold stock in a temperature- and humidity-controlled store room and ship direct, which is what lets a small operation carry 232 lines across 30 brands instead of the couple of dozen a display cabinet allows.
Everything published on this site is written in-house by people who smoke what they sell. Tasting notes are recorded from cigars out of our own stock, not copied from distributor sheets, and pages carry the date they were written so you can judge how current they are.
How we source
We buy through official distribution channels only. Cuban stock arrives with the Habanos S.A. seal and barcode intact — you can verify any box yourself at habanos.com before you cut it. New World stock comes from the manufacturers' authorised distributors for the Australian market.
If we cannot establish a clean chain of custody on something, we do not list it. That is why some well-known references are missing from the catalogue: the counterfeit trade in premium cigars is significant, and the cheap way to fill a gap is exactly how fakes enter a supply chain.
How we store
Stock is held at 16–18 °C and 68–70% relative humidity from arrival to dispatch. Orders ship with humidity control in the parcel, which matters more in Australia than most places — a box crossing the country in summer can lose condition in transit if it is packed dry.
Melbourne's own climate is harder on cigars than its reputation suggests: humidity swings sharply between seasons and heating dries indoor air right through winter. Our Australian storage guide covers what that means for a home humidor.
How buying works
- Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST and any applicable duty. There are no surprise charges at checkout.
- Dispatch is within 1–3 working days of your order. Standard Australia-wide delivery is 2–5 business days and free on orders over $179.
- Payment is by bank transfer or cryptocurrency, using the reference on your order. We never ask for or store card details.
- Returns can be requested within 15 days of delivery under the conditions set out in our terms and conditions; return shipping is at the customer's cost. See after-sales & returns for the process.
- Age — you must be 18 or over to buy. This is confirmed at checkout.
What we will not do
We do not publish invented reviews or star ratings. The site carries no customer ratings at all right now, because we would rather show none than show ones we wrote ourselves. We do not ship Cuban products to the United States, and we do not misdeclare parcels to get around import rules — confirming what may legally be imported into a destination is the buyer's responsibility, and we would rather tell you that up front than take an order we cannot lawfully fill.
