Regional Editions cigars

Edición Regional (ER) cigars are made for a single market. A regional distributor selects a vitola — usually one that has been discontinued from regular production, or never appeared in it — and commissions a limited run under a second-tier marque. The result is a cigar you can generally only buy in, or from, the country it was made for.

That exclusivity is the point, and it is also why ERs are worth attention: the smaller marques that carry them (Saint Luis Rey, Sancho Panza, La Flor de Cano, San Cristóbal) are often making the most interesting Cuban tobacco precisely because nobody is watching them the way they watch Cohiba.

Runs are small and not repeated. When an ER sells through, it is finished.
